The brief was the cow-register at its most honest: keep Shrinathji at the centre but let the herd, not a crowd of devotees, be the supporting cast, because in Pushtimarg the cattle are the congregation. We stacked plain rows of marching cows above and below the deity so the eye reads the herd as procession, and held the centre calm with a single white cow and two flowering trees rather than a busy grove. The deep maroon ground gives the pale cows a lamp-lit darshan glow and keeps the rows legible. This is the dhenu-pankti — the row of cows — that defines so much classical Nathdwara pichwai, where go-seva and darshan are the same devotion.
