The brief was the vasudhara as an open dot-field, not a packed grid: a single lotus-petal mandala at the heart and an even scatter of dots around it, each dot sitting in its own patch of geru. We held the fill near half so the ground reads strongly between the dots, the way a freshly drawn prosperity field looks before it is built up. In Kumaon the vasudhara dot-rows stand for the continuous flow of wealth and grain — they are drawn at Lakshmi worship and Diwali to invite plenty, each dot a measure counted out by fingertip. The discipline is in the spacing: a steady rhythm rather than a crowd. White biswar on geru, no third colour.
