The brief was an evening ghat aarti — the lamp worship at the water's edge — framed the way Mewar painters framed a lakeside palace pavilion: still water, temple silhouette, calm ritual. The twin-register splits the moment so you read it twice — the priest raising the tiered lamp above, ordinary devotees floating their own leaf-diyas below — which is exactly how an aarti feels, the grand gesture and the small private offerings happening together. We kept the lake an open flat field of dusk orange over lapis so the scattered diyas can glow against it, and the cast deliberately small so the scene stays devotional rather than touristic. The temple shikharas and golden tower behind anchor it as a real lakeside town at the magic hour.
