The brief was the kalpataru in its fullest, calmest form: a single symmetrical tree carrying a whole small ecosystem, balanced left to right the way patta loves. Tree-of-life symmetry did the work — parrots in the upper corners, a facing pair of koels at the heart, mirrored peacocks on the mid-branches and two deer standing guard at the roots, each creature paired so the eye settles rather than searches. We crowned it with a red lotus and let the cream ground breathe between the leaves, because a wish-fulfilling tree should feel generous, not crammed. It is the gentlest, most decorative face of the tradition, and the one that suits almost any wall.
