The brief was the Gond tree of life told completely, root to canopy, with the soil line as the hinge. Gond cosmology doesn't stop at the ground: the roots are as alive as the branches, so the composition is split by a dotted earth line into a canopy-world and a root-world that mirror each other — birds nest in the crown above, fish swim through the roots below, and the rope-twist trunk stitches the two together. Vertical symmetry was the obvious move; a tree wants an axis, and it lets the deer and cow flank the trunk at the midline like guardians of the surface world. Sunflower discs and leaf-dots keep the crown alive without crowding it. Keeping it medium-light matters across both halves: open teal sky in the canopy, open charcoal soil below, so the eye reads the whole cycle at a glance and the rope-twist roots stay legible.

  • Dual teal-and-charcoal ground sits well on warm-white, clay or sage walls — let the open canopy sky and soil breathe
  • Pair with mahua-tree-of-life or banyan-spirit-tree at matching A2 for a tree-of-life set
  • Natural-oak frame warms the ochre trunk and roots; black frame echoes the lampblack outline and the dark soil
  • Hang at eye level in a study, meditation corner or living room where the root-to-canopy cycle reads as quiet grounding
