DESIGN BRIEF: the brief was the dawn mahua sweep — the morning the whole household goes out to gather the fallen blossoms for food, oil and brew. We chose tree-of-life-centre symmetry because the mahua itself is the event: a tall flowering tree fills the upper-middle, its canopy thick with small five-point blossoms and settling birds, and the gatherers bend in from every side with baskets. We scattered the fallen flowers as small dots across the maroon ground so the harvest reads as a real morning, not a tidy diagram, and held the fill medium-light so the deep-maroon breathes between the rows. We refused faces, refused colour, refused perspective depth, and kept the bicycle-and-machinery world out entirely; a fenced clearing under the trunk and dancers at the foot ground it in the Rayagada hills where mahua season is its own small festival.
