DESIGN BRIEF: the brief was the living tradition rather than a finished shrine, so the hero is the act of making — a painter on the ground and a second figure on a bamboo ladder raising an idital of tree, deer and horse onto a house wall, with the village seated in rows to watch and a feast laid out below. We held the fill to medium and kept the fish-net frame open rather than a packed mesh, leaving clear deep-maroon ground so the makers, the half-made painting and the seated onlookers stay legible at a glance. The figures are the rounded, faceless, bent-knee Saura type — never Warli's joined triangles — and there is no perspective depth; everything stacks in bands. An idital is traditionally raised by a kuranmaran for a deity, ancestor, healing or harvest, accompanied by gathering and feasting, and that communal occasion is the whole point of this fusion panel.
