The Plymouth GTX, introduced for the 1967 model year, was positioned as the upmarket alternative to the GTO and SS-396 in Plymouth's B-body performance line. Where the Road Runner was stripped to save money, the GTX came standard with the 440 cubic-inch Magnum V8, chrome exterior trim, and a dual exhaust system producing between 375 and 390 horsepower depending on carburetion. The legendary 426 Street Hemi was available as an option.
