P-40 Warhawk Cutaway Poster — P-40E WW2 Split-View Blueprint Print

Shark teeth on the left and an Allison rib cage on the right — the P-40E earns rank-six cutaway treatment because Claire Chennault's AVG made the Warhawk's nose art the most recognisable fighter face of the China-Burma-India theatre before Hollywood turned it into a recruiting poster.

Rank 6 documents the Curtiss P-40E Warhawk — the Allison-powered fighter that traded high-altitude performance for rugged simplicity and theatre-specific nose art that turned every ramp into a morale billboard. American Volunteer Group pilots in Kunming and Rangoon applied shark-mouth markings copied from RAF Tomahawks in North Africa, creating an iconography that outlasted the airframe's technical limitations against Japanese Oscar and Zero opponents. The P-40E's six .50-calibre Brownings, self-sealing tanks, and forgiving ground handling made it the backbone of USAAF and Allied squadrons from Pearl Harbor through the Solomons. More than 13,700 P-40s were built across all marks; split-view blueprint art renders the shark-mouth exterior and Allison wireframe lattice exactly as the master PNG dictates.

  • Black frame on deep forest or charcoal walls — shark-mouth red and wireframe lines stay true without overpowering neutral upholstery
  • Pair with P-51D Mustang or A6M5 Zero cutaway prints at matching A2 for Pacific and CBI fighter contrast grid
  • Hang above a credenza at eye level; the top-down split-view reads best with half a metre stand-off
  • Natural-oak frame suits study walls where forest plate echoes wood tones beside aviation bookshelves
  • Stack A3 beside P-39Q Airacobra for Curtiss-Bell lineage context without competing decal fields
  • Avoid saturated red decor directly beside the shark mouth if you want blue-grey camouflage tones to stay accurate
