The rain month arrives, and the Lord is set gently swinging — flowers, ropes and a green canopy doing the rocking.

The brief was the hindola festival as a calm, centred icon rather than a busy crowd: one flower-decked swing on the axis, two mirrored attendants at the ropes, and the monsoon told through cloud, peacocks and a lotus pond rather than literal weather. We set the whole scene on a deep bilva-green ground so the rain month feels lush, then let the marigold festoon and flower-strung ropes carry the festivity without crowding. Hindola Utsav swings the deity through the green month of Shravan in the Pushtimarg and Vrindavan calendars — the swing itself is the celebration. The small Krishna-blue figure stays the quiet centre; the attendants, cows and pond keep the Braj setting. Faux-gold on the swing and festoon is flat vivid yellow throughout.

  • Natural-oak or black frame on cream or warm walls lets the deep green ground and marigold border stay rich
  • Hang above a shrine shelf or console at eye level so the centred swing anchors the wall
  • Pairs with monsoon-terrace-peacocks and varsha-monsoon-grove for a monsoon-festival grouping
  • Avoid a green wall behind it — the deep green ground wants a contrasting cream or terracotta backdrop
  • Set beside holi-phag-festival or nandostav-butter-festival for a festival-calendar wall
