Dashavatara Kerala Mural Art Print — the ten avatars of Vishnu in a ten-cell panel, flat panchavarna bhitti-chitra style, collector edition of 500

All ten descents of Vishnu in one panel — fish to Kalki, each avatar given its own arched cell so the whole story reads like a wall of small shrines.

The brief was the one place the collection's medium-light rule bends on purpose: the Dashavatara is by nature a sequence, so instead of one dominant figure this panel holds ten, each in its own arched cell, read top to bottom like a narrative scroll. The order is the classical one — Matsya the fish, Kurma the tortoise, Varaha lifting the earth, Narasimha tearing Hiranyakashipu, Vamana the dwarf, Parashurama with the axe, Rama with the bow, Krishna with the cow, Buddha in meditation, and Kalki on the white horse. The avatars who are serene carry the green sattvic body of Kerala's guna code; the fierce Narasimha breaks into red and gold. Floral dividers keep each cell legible against the warm ochre ground, so the eye can rest on any single descent and still hold the whole sweep.

  • Natural-oak frame on a cream or warm-white wall keeps the ten ochre cells balanced
  • Hang at eye level where the grid can be read row by row from top to bottom
  • Pairs naturally with vishnu-anantashayana or guruvayurappan-krishna for a Vishnu grouping
  • Black frame echoes the cell dividers and lamp-black outline
  • A single large size suits this panel better than a small grid — keep it as one statement piece
