The brief was to get the Cheena vala — Kochi's iconic Chinese fishing nets — into mural line without the rig dissolving into a tangle of poles and rope. The answer was to treat the whole machine as one rising diagonal: the haulers lean together at the lower left, the ropes climb to the tilted net at the upper right, and a coconut palm, the wave bands and the counterweight stones hold the corners. The fishermen carry the green sattvic body, which quietly lifts ordinary dockside labour into the mural's devotional register rather than playing it for laughs. We kept the density medium-light so the eye follows the haul, then finds the boat, the gulls and the Kochi waterfront with its white church on the far shore — refusing modern cranes and motorboats so the coast reads as it has for centuries.
