Korea Aerospace Industries and the Agency for Defense Development shaped a canard-less delta with partially embedded weapons carriage, AESA radar, and a defensive-aids suite aimed at air superiority and precision strike between Block I and future Block III internal-bay stealth goals. The HAL Tejas Light Combat Aircraft entered Indian Air Force squadron service on 1 July 2016 with No. 45 Squadron Flying Daggers at Bangalore — the first operational Tejas unit in the world.
