DESIGN BRIEF: the hard part was a whirling group dance — circular motion — in a folk grammar that has no blur. We drew the timli as a great hand-linked ring of dancers in flared skirts spinning around a central band of drummers and pipers, letting the rotation read through the ring's repeating tilt and reaching arms rather than any motion lines, with a smaller ring nested inside for depth. At medium-light density the dance holds the centre while a carousel, a tractor, a bus and a duck-pond settle around the wall in the same flat line. Among the Rathwa of Chhota Udepur the timli is the community's own circle dance, danced at festivals to the drum and pipe; ringing it with the fair's carousel and the village bus is the fusion's joy — the old circle in the new village.

  • Natural-oak frame on cream or warm-white walls keeps the dance ring bright and warm
  • Hang where the turning circle can keep the eye moving across the room
  • Pairs with village-mela-wheel and rathwa-chul-fire-leap for a festival-energy trio
  • Stack beside garba-night-circle so the circle-dance theme carries across frames
  • Black frame echoes the confident outline when the room has dark wood
