We briefed this as the Sohrai tree of life in full colour, held to a strict vertical axis the way a Hazaribagh wall climbs its blessings up one trunk. The canopy is loaded with red blossoms and small perched birds so the crown reads as a living, noisy thing, with peacocks at the top corners; the deer step in at mid-trunk and a caparisoned bull anchors each root, one white and one red so the base balances by colour as well as shape. We kept the brown-earth ground open between the branches so the tree breathes rather than crowds, the kaolin dot-work marking the bulls and birds as cared-for. It is the harvest world — birds, deer, cattle, flower — gathered onto one growing trunk.
