We briefed this as a Sohrai dawn: two roosters facing off at the top of the wall, beaks raised, crowing a half-sun up between their feet. Twin-panel-mirror symmetry carries the call-and-answer of the birds and gives the rising sun a clean centre to climb from. We stepped the rest of the wall down in calm pairs — deer below the sun, small caparisoned elephants at mid-base, peacocks flanking a lotus at the foot — so the morning reads top to bottom without crowding. The warm clay ground stands in for the daubed harvest wall, and the kaolin combs and sun-rays catch first the way a real cock's comb catches the early light.
