This fusion carries Sarhul, the Adivasi spring festival that honours the flowering sal and the earth before sowing, into Gond line. The brief was to keep it secular and tree-centred, exactly as Gond prefers: no temple, no idol, just the blooming tree as the object of reverence. So one flowering sal stands at the centre, its trunk built from seed-rows that literally read as growth, its canopy studded with petal-ring blossoms to mark the season. The worshippers gather at the base — a priest offering blossoms and a pot, three women bearing flower-bowls — small enough that the tree stays the hero. Two birds flank it so the grove feels alive. Keeping it medium-light meant resisting a crowd: the dark teal ground breathes around the tree so the bloom and the offering read as a quiet rite, not a packed procession.
