DESIGN BRIEF: the hard part was rendering fire and a leap in flat folk grammar without tipping the chul rite into spectacle. We drew the fire-pit as a flat bed of red-orange flame-tongues with dotted embers and the leaping devotee as a single airborne figure, arms up, in the same outline as the hand-linked crowd around him — the act reads clearly without smoke or glow. At medium-light density the fire holds the centre while the modern village frames it: two long yellow buses and a green tractor at the side, a gully-cricket game at the base, all flattened into the same line. Among the Rathwa of Chhota Udepur fire-leaping is a real devotional act of faith and endurance; setting the buses that carry the crowd to it on the same wall is the fusion's quiet point — the rite still happens, the village around it has changed.

  • Natural-oak frame on cream or warm-white walls keeps the red-orange fire warm and bold
  • Hang where the airborne figure over the fire can be the clear, dramatic focus
  • Pairs with timli-dance-circle and village-mela-wheel for a festival-energy trio
  • Stack beside rathwa-bride-ornaments so the Rathwa ceremony theme carries across frames
  • Black frame echoes the confident outline when the room has dark wood
