We briefed this as a two-register village strip because a paddy season has two halves that belong together: the hand-transplanting that is still women's work, and the tractor that has changed everything around it. Stacked-strip grammar is the old Cheriyal way of telling a sequence, so the top band carries the bent row planting seedlings in flooded water while the bottom band gives the machine, the bull and the field lunch. The medium fill keeps each register readable — the bund, the row of backs, the harrow discs, the tiffin spread — without the panel turning into a busy mural. We folk-stylised the tractor deliberately, flat blue with yellow-star wheels, so it sits in the scroll grammar beside a white Ongole bull rather than looking like clip art dropped on the red.
