We briefed this as a Khovar animal-medallion: not a frieze of many cattle but a single bull big enough to carry the wall by itself. The bull is the household's first honour at the harvest and wedding seasons in Hazaribagh, so the central-medallion symmetry gives it the front-on, frontal-gaze authority a sacred animal asks for. Combing the body in long contour rows lets the dark base read as shadow inside the muscle without any actual colour, which is the whole trick of Khovar sgraffito. We kept the corners light — a perched peacock each side, a deer below each flank — so the eye stays on the bull instead of drowning in comb-noise.
