IBEX Poster — 2008 Pegasus XL NASA Heritage Collector Print

A hundred kilograms of hexagonal gold mapping the solar system's outer wall — IBEX earns rank-ninety-four heritage dignity because the heliopause ribbon deserved foil type before another documentary voiceover said interstellar medium.

Rank 94 documents the Interstellar Boundary Explorer (IBEX) — the Southwest Research Institute Explorers mission air-launched from Kwajalein Atoll on 19 October 2008 aboard a Pegasus XL rocket and weighing just 107 kg while producing the first global map of the heliosphere boundary in energetic neutral atoms. David McComas and Nathan Schwadron led IBEX-Hi and IBEX-Lo sensors that discovered an unexpected bright ENA ribbon where the solar wind meets the interstellar medium — a structure theorists are still explaining. IBEX's highly elliptical 86,000 km apogee orbit keeps the spacecraft outside most radiation belts, optimizing ENA collection with minimal mass. Extended missions through the 2020s proved small spacecraft could carry big heliophysics per kilogram. Wallimilist renders the octagonal bus with dual sensor apertures against a stippled ENA ribbon arc, Pegasus XL kicker, and Kwajalein launch footer exactly as the master PNG dictates.

  • Black frame on warm white walls — ENA ribbon orange arc and navy interstellar field stay balanced without overpowering neutral upholstery
  • Pair with Voyager 1 or Voyager 2 heritage prints at matching A2 for heliosphere exit timeline
  • Hang above a credenza at eye level; the arched ribbon field and octagonal IBEX bus read best with half a metre stand-off
  • Natural-oak frame suits study walls where cream paper echoes wood tones beside space-probe monographs
  • Stack A3 beside ACE Solar Wind or WIND Solar for upstream solar wind context
  • Avoid competing orange decor directly behind the ENA ribbon if you want arc glow to stay accurate
