We briefed this as the threshold god in his calmest patua form: Ganesha seated frontal, the elephant head modelled in warm golden-yellow, four arms holding the lotus, the axe and the modak with one palm open in blessing. A centred-frontal seat gives him the steady symmetry of a doorway image, the kind hung where a household begins anything new. We crowned him with a tiered headdress and a white trishul tilak, hung silver necklaces over his belly, and tucked the small grey mouse at lower-right looking up — the vahana that keeps the great god human-scaled. The brick-red dhoti is the only strong colour against the gold; the plain ground keeps him serene. Boneless shading rounds his trunk, belly and the curl of the lotus.
