We briefed Bonalu as a procession-row because that is what it physically is — a line of women walking cooked offerings to the Mahankali temple — and Cheriyal's old festival-strip layout was made for exactly this left-to-right march. The Pothuraju was the design risk: he whirls and cracks a whip, and earlier drafts turned him into a blur, so we settled him into one bold profile figure mid-stride with the whip arced clean overhead, leading the file. The turmeric-yellow Bonam pots crowned with neem and a small flame repeat down the line to carry rhythm, and the temple gopuram with the goddess face pins the right edge so you read the destination at a glance. Red ground stays open above the heads so the medium fill never crowds.
